You ask, we answer!

In this section you will find the most frequently asked questions and the answers provided! This section will be interesting for both experienced Bērze Strazdu Midsummer Festival visitors and those who are coming for the first time this year!

When and where will the "BS Midsummer Festival 2027" take place in the UK?

The event will begin on Friday, June 18, 2027 (gates open at 12:00) and will conclude on Sunday, June 20, 2027 at 1:00 PM.

The celebration will take place at the DVF Manor complex - in a wonderful meadow with changing terrain, both trees and fantastic expanse.

Enter this address into your GPS navigation: LE17 6DF – Catthorpe Towers, Lilbourne Lane, Catthorpe, Lutterworth, Leicestershire. This place has also been called Catthorpe Manor and Straumēns over the years – it is the same place. We will also take care of the signs!

Where exactly is Catthorpe Towers located and how do I get there?
  • Catthorpe Towers is located in the heart of England – close to the M1 motorway (junction 18) and the M6 motorway (M1 junction 19), approximately 90 miles (150 km) from London and 35 miles (60 km) from Birmingham.

  • The nearest train station is in Rugby – approx. 4.5 miles (7 km) from the festival venue. To get to Rugby, you can take the train from London EUSTON station. The most convenient way to get from Rugby station to Catthorpe Towers is by taxi (approx. £10).

  • We recommend using Rugby Taxi 01788 226500 or Compass Taxis 01788 222222

  • If you experience any confusion or doubts along the way, call 07507508930 – we will help!

What are the accommodation options?

  • Bērzes Strazdi offers tent sites in the tent camp. The tent camp will traditionally be divided into two parts – "quiet" and "regular". People who want to sleep at night will stay in the Quiet section. This means that after 00:00 in the Quiet tent camp, noise is no longer allowed, for example, singing loudly, playing music and bragging. In contrast, there are no such restrictions in the "regular" tent camp. The site in the tent camp is 3x3m (9m2), if your tent is larger than this, you will have to purchase additional site(s).

  • If staying in a tent doesn't seem like the best idea, there are also hotels relatively close by . The best way to search for hotels is via this link , entering Postcode LE17 6DF. The closest ones will be:

    • Premier Inn Rugby North (10 min by taxi).

    • Travelodge Rugby Central (10 min by taxi).

  • If you decide to go to the Midsummer celebrations with your motorhome or caravan , you will be welcome. The space for motorhomes is also limited - 8x4m (36m2). Don't forget to buy the right ticket, depending on your choice. You have to take care of tents and motorhomes yourself. If you have purchased a place for a motorhome, then come only with a motorhome/caravan intended for it. Trailers, vans with a mattress, etc. will not be allowed.

Is this a family event?

This is DEFINITELY a family event. Children under 14 years old (inclusive) are admitted free of charge. Young people from 15 (inclusive) to 17 (inclusive) - reduced ticket price.

For the fifth year, BĒRZES STRAZDI has been organizing a fantastic and unforgettable program of getting to know and learning Latvian cultural traditions as part of the festival - LĪGOTAVA, as well as sports games, activities for children with parents, special activities for teenagers and young people.

Will I have the opportunity to enjoy Latvian cultural performances?

Undoubtedly, BSJF 2027 will feature a traditional culture and traditions program for young and old - LĪGOTAVAS , which will take care of learning about and practicing Midsummer celebrations and other Latvian traditions through interactive and creative workshops. As well as special Latvian film screenings.

Will I have the opportunity to hear the greatest Latvian music?

What could we do without it? The three-day open-air music and culture festival boasts a diverse program that suits the diverse tastes of the Latvian community.

Will water be available?

Running water is provided for the event. It will be available to cool off at several points. We encourage you to bring your own drinking water or purchase it from vendors. Showers will also be available for a fee.

Will food and refreshments be available?

Yes, there will be a possibility to use catering services from several caterers, thus promoting quality and diversity. Of course, there will also be a bar, where you will have the opportunity to taste Latvian beer on tap, and craft markets.

Will there also be an opportunity to spend time actively doing sports?

Yes, we have also made sure that there will be volleyball competitions, as well as various relay races, a novuss and a zolīte. There will be an opportunity to exercise. In addition, feel free to bring your sports equipment with you - as we mentioned, there will be enough space for everyone.

Has Bērzes Strazdi thought about security?

Yes, we have the entertainment industry standard of security guards and marshals, and Leicestershire Police will be on hand to ensure our well-being and safe partying. In addition, there will be an ambulance on site with a sufficient number of first aiders. The staff are specially trained to deal with fire safety and outdoor events.

Will there be a possibility to charge a mobile phone?

Yes! The BĒRZES STRAZDI information tent will be open throughout the festival, where you will be able to find out not only festival news, current events, purchase tickets to paid attractions, but also meet many supporters, purchase souvenirs and, for a fee, charge your phones.

What about Midsummer bonfires and are they allowed to be lit near tents?

For the safety of all of us, it is forbidden to light your own campfires near the tents. However, you can light a fire in the grills. We encourage all visitors to bring their own fire extinguisher from their car. This way, we will all feel even safer if an unnecessary spark hits where it shouldn't.

Can I come to the festival with my pet that I can't leave at home?

You can only do this if you follow your pet throughout the day, take full responsibility, and pick up after him in the meadow!

Will it be possible to pay by card at BSJF 2027?

Yes, all services provided by Bērzes Strazdi can also be paid for by card on site. However, at the large Midsummer craft fair you will most likely only be able to pay in cash. There will be no cash machine on the festival grounds, so it's best to bring some cash if you'd like to buy a souvenir at the fair.

Can I fly my drone at the festival?

No.

If I arrive by car, will there be parking?

When you arrive at the festival, follow the signs to the ticket desk, where you can show your festival ticket and receive your wristband, pay for tent pitches, book the luggage transport service and pay for parking. Parking costs £5. You will then be shown where to park your car.

Will I be able to pitch a tent next to my friends?

We do not offer the option to reserve tent sites. There are two options for how you can pitch your tents so that they are together:

  1. If your entire company arrives at the same time;

  2. The part of your company that arrives first can purchase all the company tent sites and also set up the tents.

* This file will be updated as the festival approaches. We recommend that you check the current information again before going to the festival.
